GA-7VRXP & USB230 May 2005 18:20 GMT1
I'm having a problem with my Rev 1.1 board. Every time I plug my new
Safecom external HDD enclosure in to a USB2 socket I get a BSOD.
The enclosure works in ok in a USB1 socket (albeit at USB1 speeds) but I
get the BSOD even if it's the only device plugged into a USB2 socket.

I currently have a Sapphire Radeon 9600 Pro 256mb agp video card and would
like to know what would be one to steps up in quality with the same chipset?
I want to start playing a few video games and think I need a bit more speed.
I also may want to overclock the card.

I bought an adaptec 29160 PCI card on ebay.  It  is a 64 bit card but
when I install it in a variety of 32 bit pci slot my machine will not
boot.  It just hangs up and the video won't even start.  I have tried

Upgrade Problem26 May 2005 11:42 GMT4
I have a friend who has recently upgraded an old Gateway GP6-450 with a
Gigabyte GA-7IXE4 MB.  Now he can not get the system to power up.  It
has a 200w stock PS which still boots the old board.  I think the power
switch might be faulty.  Can it be disabled in any way??  He does not

I'm new to this NG, so thank you very much so long for your help.
I have just bought a PC with a GA-K8VM800M motherboard which I am very
happy with. Upon booting, I notice that the S.M.A.R.T. function is disabled
on my motherboard. Where do I enable it again? I want this to be ...
8INXP at 800FSB?24 May 2005 15:37 GMT4
I saw several people post threads who wanted to do this, but nothing
conclusive has come of it.
Apparently the board chipset (intel 7205) will support FSB speeds up to
800 without straining itself.. it is just a matter of having an 800FSB
Difference between GA-K8N Ultra-9 & GA-K8NXP-924 May 2005 10:58 GMT1
Is Gigabyte's GA-K8N Ultra-9 a new board? How long has it been out?
I have not found much that has been written about this GA-K8N Ultra-9
board.
Plenty of info is available for the GA-K8NXP-9 board.

GA-K8NXP-9 How do you setup ActiveArmour?23 May 2005 23:42 GMT6
I have just built a PC based on the GA-K8NXP-9 motherboard and all has gone
very well.
Except for one issue. I cannot see how you get to activate Activearmour the
NVidia4 hardware firewall.
GA-7N400 Pro2 Rev 2.0 - CPU Speed with XP320023 May 2005 00:51 GMT9
My CPU is the Barton XP3200, I'm not interested in overclocking, just in
getting the CPU to run at the correct speed.
I've already RTFM, and hopefully understood correctly ... have set the
CLK_SW to OFF (i.e. 100MHz for FSB 200MHz CPU per the manual), and
K8NS Pro - Can't run using 2x512MB RAM?22 May 2005 22:25 GMT2
I have a K8NS Pro motherbaord (F9 bios) and I can not get the system to even
bootup to CMOS if I try installing two modules of 512MB RAM.
I have tried slots 1&2, 1&3 and 2&3.
It either remains a blank screen, makes long beeps, or gets to the video

Since upgrading from BIOS F6 to F7 I can now run N-Tune. However, I get the
