After a fresh XP install on a new hard drive, I had some serious
graphics lockups. I tried everything and finally after setting the AGP
to 4x, the system is stable. I'm pretty sure I was running at 8x
before, so I'm wondering why I can't run at 8x now. I'm using bios 7.

8KNXP Rev2 PAT Function30 Jun 2004 02:00 GMT16
Have been experimenting with BIOS settings and Memtest 1.15.  I've
discovered that BIOSs prior to rev FH do not enable PAT.  If you're
running a gigabit lan it looks like the update to FH is for you.  If
you haven't already tried it, the latest incarnation of Memtest adds a

I want a board like the 7N400 Pro2 but also with VGA.
Is the "V" version much inferior?
GA 8KNXP RH9 Linux problems (repost)29 Jun 2004 19:35 GMT7
(sorry posted to thread, when I mean to post as new thread)
Hi all
I'm running Red Hat 9 on an 8knxp which I bought recently.  I have noticed that:
RH9 refuses to acknowledge the existence of the onboard lan (despite loading e1000.o as a module) or of the onboard sound. Also, (under ...
System fan speed not being shown28 Jun 2004 23:35 GMT2
New Gigabyte GA-7DPXDW motherboard with ANTEC PSU. Connected the FAN
connector lead from the PSU to the motherboard but the BIOS reports system
fan speed is zero.
Should I be worried?

I recently changed to this motherboard from a GA-7VAXP and I am getting a
dead keyboard on starting up - no lights flash and the keys are dead. I have
found that if the power is removed from the computer for about 10 seconds -
keyboard and mouse (PS2) are always alive - it will work ...

Hard Drive Size Limit in Bios25 Jun 2004 06:41 GMT1
I am running an 8PE667 Ultra board with the latest available bios
(F3 10-16-02) and Windows XP Home. Will this bios recognize a drive bigger
than 137gb, such
as 160 or 200gb?
ET4, latest version -- work for you?25 Jun 2004 02:20 GMT6
8KNXP, 3.06GHz w/HT enabled, XP pro up to date.
ET4 volunteered to update itself, and in an unguarded moment, I
thought, 'oh, what the hell'.  Wasn't as bad as it could have been,
looks pretty much the same as the year-old version I'd been using.
GA-7N400 Pro 2 - Computer Won't Post24 Jun 2004 22:56 GMT2
Unfortunately I can't leave my computer alone and I end up creating
problems for myself. I like the motherboard - lots of features and not
too expensive.
