After a fresh XP install on a new hard drive, I had some serious graphics lockups. I tried everything and finally after setting the AGP to 4x, the system is stable. I'm pretty sure I was running at 8x before, so I'm wondering why I can't run at 8x now. I'm using bios 7.

| 8KNXP Rev2 PAT Function | 30 Jun 2004 02:00 GMT | 16 |
Have been experimenting with BIOS settings and Memtest 1.15. I've discovered that BIOSs prior to rev FH do not enable PAT. If you're running a gigabit lan it looks like the update to FH is for you. If you haven't already tried it, the latest incarnation of Memtest adds a

8KNXP, 3.06GHz w/HT enabled, XP pro up to date. ET4 volunteered to update itself, and in an unguarded moment, I thought, 'oh, what the hell'. Wasn't as bad as it could have been, looks pretty much the same as the year-old version I'd been using.
