Motherboard:  Epox 9NDA3I Rev 2 w/latest bios
CPU:  Athlon 64 3500+ socket 939 (known good at 2.5 Ghz)
I previously had a set of PC3200 Ballistix (2-2-2-6) installed that worked

Just bought a Scythe "Mini Kaze" 40mm Silent Mini Fan (SY124010L) for
my erratic chipset fan on my 8KHA+ MB which has lasted lo these 6.5
yrs. I measured the old 'coolermaster' fan and it was 40x40x10mm with
a 2 pin connector. The 2 pin connector on this fan I got from Newegg

I know it's an olde MB, but it still works....

Is it possible to _underclock_ my processor to as lower speed as possible while still being stable?
I have a Sempron 2800+ 64bit CPU (real speed 1.6ghz) running on an epox 8NPAJ(with lastest BIOS)
I have tried to underclock my settings but no luck- it just hangs even when slightly ...

I want to fix at minimum cost and trouble an 8K7A+ which seems to have
developed bad capacitors (some look quite bad and it's started random
