Just a follow up from my previous post re: bad experience with bios KRA23A28
for Ep-8KRA2+.
I e-mailed every Epox office with my problem and got a reply from only 1
office - HQ in Taiwan. They sent me a new bios KRA23C01 (12/01/2003) and all

whilst shelling out for xmas i ncluded a few new items for yours trully.
i bought a new XP2500+, a 2nd hand Ep-8kra2, a chieftec full tower case (6 x
5 1/4" bays), 512 of Kingston Value DDR400 and a TT volcano9.
now everything seems ok even now i'm running at 2.2GHz as an XP3200+

After I flash the bios could someone help me with the bios settings??  I
built this PC about 2 years ago and just kept everything at the defaults.
I'd like to have the settings at the optimum for gaming.  My system is as
follows......

Epox recommended to flash BIOS on 8KTA+ after upgrade to 1.3 Duron.
The flash failed. Epox UK NEVER replied to emails again.
Had to buy new BIOS from www.biosflashuk.com . Fast service with real
people on end of phone. If U need reprogrammes or new BIOS (in the UK)

I have the 8KHA+ mb running win98 and want to flash the bios.  Been having
minor annoyances and want to see if a bios flash will fix anything.  I've
never done it before so if someone could give me a step by step that would
be just great....Thanks all and Merry Xmas!!

I have been thinking of upgrading the AMD 1600 Xp on my 8kha+ board.
I was going to go with the 2400+, but I have noticed the Thoroughbred
core and the Thorton core mentioned.  It looks like the Thorton core
is better, but not clear if this MB will handle it?  I have looked at

Hi, i recently flashed the bios on my EP-8KRA2+  to the latest KRA23A28
bios.
I did this mainly for 2 stated fixes ie. proper barton 3200+ support, and
raid controller boot priority patch.

Irrespective of which is the faster CPU, which one would you recommend if my
main goal is upgradability. I want to remove the old CPU and plug in a newer
CPU on the same mobo & RAM in the future.

I've been trying for two days now to d/l  the newest bios from my
older EP-4G4A+ mobo. Friggin' link for it keeps crashing out. I've
tried it with IE, Opera, Moz,Firebird - no joy.
Anyone know of an alternate site where they are available?

Does anyone know, what is the biggest hard drive that the 8KHA+ can use?
Specifically, I mean the largest drive that the BIOS can handle. I don't want
to use an overlay driver.
Epox says that the largest they have tested is 80 gigs, but that doesn't tell

I have Upgraded my Epox 8KHA+ with a TBred 2600(333) and InfineonRam(333).
I load the newest Bios and flashed it. The problem is which settings i have
to make in my bios. When i choose 166Mhz the pc don`t boot. The multi on
auto and fsb on 166? My palamino 1800 runs with no problem ...
