A mate gave me his PC to fix - it had intermittent blue screens and file
corruption in Windows. Now sorted out, but while working with it, I
noticed something odd.
The box has a K7S5A motherboard and Duron 1300 processor. The

How would a K7s5a board with official bios recognize a barton (333 fsb)
processor. I assume an OC Bios would use most of it's capabilites

What is a good replacement for ECS K7S5A? (I don't wish to spend as
much as Asus A7N8X costs.) I built a # of these systems, few years ago, and
wish to upgrade 2 of them that keep losing CMOS--even tho' owners, quite
unsavvy re: computers, do not realize it. Thanks, s

My second K7S5A motherboard recently died (the first one was my fault).
It's been a great ride, 5 years running 24/7. Now I've got AMD X2 dual core!
Anyway, maybe someone can reuse the components. You can pick it up at my
place. I'm located in Montreal, Canada in the West Island ...
