| K7S5A Update | 30 Sep 2004 21:03 GMT | 3 |
I just got a new processor an AMD XP 2600. I tried to put it on the motherboard but when I start my computer, it doesn't find my new processor. Probably my bios cant handle the new processor. When I look at my bios it says, for the processor settings only 133/133 Mhz

Hello... this is not the other poster I see oddly posting a similar question on the same day. Similar, but not the same. I am still running that v3.1 with a Duron 1.3 and 2 128M SDRAM sticks. The board has always run pretty fair w the exception of the time I tried to

Can anyone help me here. I want to run the cpu at overclock mode and at top mhz. When I set this in bios, and reboot, it gets as far as the splash screen, and then reboots. Whats the likely cause of this, and how do I fix it? I'm a newbie and would appreciate help.

| Correct battery for K7S5A? | 17 Sep 2004 08:09 GMT | 6 |
I suspect that my (CMOS) battery in my K7S5A is going; I've had Windows XP freeze solid roughly once a day for the last several days. The CPU Fan Speed, System Temp, and CPU Temp all seem reasonable so I'm guessing it's the battery.

| K7S5A and Athlon XP 1600+ won't read certain files on harddrive (bizarre) | 13 Sep 2004 00:13 GMT | 8 |
This is very strange. I'm working on a friend's computer which has an Athlon XP 1600+ running on a K7S5A. The CPU settings in the BIOS had been set up wrong (100/100 instead of 133/133), so he's been running at 1050MHz for as long as he's had this computer. When I change the BIOS ...

| K7VMM and onboard video | 12 Sep 2004 00:49 GMT | 1 |
I have this board and after installing a NIC (onboard died) I found I no longer have video. I tried installing an ATI Radeon 9600 pro and I still have no video. There are no beep codes during post so I haven't clue. The only really odd behaviour I'm noticing is that the CD
