K7S5A Update30 Sep 2004 21:03 GMT3
I just got a new processor an AMD XP 2600. I tried to put it on the
motherboard but when I start my computer, it doesn't find my new processor.
Probably my bios cant handle the new processor.
When I look at my bios it says, for the processor settings only 133/133 Mhz
Power Supply?28 Sep 2004 18:42 GMT3
First, thanks for the feedback on the other post... it may just be the power
supply.
I am replacing the power supply on a budget, but... I also want to have
enough umpffff for future budget upgrades (looking toward XP2600 or 3000,
K7S5A Erratic Boot Fails (not checksum)26 Sep 2004 17:19 GMT1
Hello... this is not the other poster I see oddly posting a similar question
on the same day. Similar, but not the same.
I am still running that v3.1 with a Duron 1.3 and 2 128M SDRAM sticks.
The board has always run pretty fair w the exception of the time I tried to
k7s5a wol26 Sep 2004 16:06 GMT1
I have some computers with a k7s5a motherboard and cpu AMD 1800+. Although
wol is enabled in bios, I can not start up the pc from an other one. I found
a connector on the mb, but this seems to connect an other nic to the mb. I
am using Magic Packet, perhaps this program doesn't work ...
K7S5A Pro Bus/Memory Issues25 Sep 2004 17:45 GMT1
I have a K7S5A Pro Mainboard and have been having problems with the
FSB/Memory settings in the most recent version of the CheepoBIOS.  I

K7VZA Smokeing MOBO Help22 Sep 2004 18:00 GMT6
My Godchild's computer started to smoke.  She sent it to me.  I got
the PC to start and noticed that indeed the MOBO was frying just to
the USB side of the CPU.
I have gone on the Web to try and find a good replacement MOBO.  This
l7vmm3 overclocked21 Sep 2004 02:49 GMT3
Can anyone help me here.  I want to run the cpu at overclock mode and at top
mhz.  When I set this in bios, and reboot, it gets as far as the splash
screen, and then reboots.  Whats the likely cause of this, and how do I fix
it?  I'm a newbie and would appreciate help.
Correct battery for K7S5A?17 Sep 2004 08:09 GMT6
I suspect that my (CMOS) battery in my K7S5A is going; I've had Windows XP
freeze solid roughly once a day for the last several days. The CPU Fan
Speed, System Temp, and CPU Temp all seem reasonable so I'm guessing it's
the battery.
K7S5A AGP Probs17 Sep 2004 00:01 GMT3
I have a problem with the AGP on my k7s5a.
In my device mangler, I don't have the AGP drivers installed, just the
PCI-to-PCI bridge. So I update this driver, install the latest SiS AGP
Driver (117e) and reboot. However on rebooting, I have screen

l7vmm3 fan15 Sep 2004 15:06 GMT5
I'm looking for information on the cpu fan included with this motherboard.
How loud is it supposed to be?  Is it a reliable fan or should I upgrade?
Thanks

K7S5A and Athlon XP 1600+ won't read certain files on harddrive (bizarre)13 Sep 2004 00:13 GMT8
This is very strange. I'm working on a friend's computer which has an
Athlon XP 1600+ running on a K7S5A. The CPU settings in the BIOS had
been set up wrong (100/100 instead of 133/133), so he's been running at
1050MHz for as long as he's had this computer. When I change the BIOS ...
K7VMM and onboard video12 Sep 2004 00:49 GMT1
I have this board and after installing a NIC (onboard died) I found I
no longer have video.  I tried installing an ATI Radeon 9600 pro and I
still have no video.  There are no beep codes during post so I haven't
clue.  The only really odd behaviour I'm noticing is that the CD
K7S5A keeps rebooting at startup10 Sep 2004 09:29 GMT4
When I turn my K7S5A based system on the XP slpash screen appears with the
moving bar but after a few seconds after it checks the CD ROM's it reboots and
just keeps doing this. It does this when I try safe mode, last good config. Is
there some way to correct this

I have a new K7VTA3 MB with 333mhz FSB

My CPU, core voltages are accurate but my +12 an -12 are low.
