Does anyone have any ideas if this combo will work? I'm thinking of putting two sticks of PC150 of differing sizes (512 and 256 Corsair) and manufacturers, would this also cause problems? The CPU would be a Duron-Morgan 1300. -Bill (remove "botizer" to reply via email)

Was working fine 2 days ago, now it won't boot. It powers up, but I get no beep. Then it flashes the HDD, DVD and CD lights alternately. No video signal. I swapped video cards with a known working one, still nothing.

I just read in a post that the K7S5A pro board doesnt work with the AMD XP Barton cpu's. I just bought this board and the 2500 333fsb Barton, I know the board is only 266 but I thought it would work ok. The only issue I had was trying to get the bios setting to 166mhtz,

Will PC3200 work with my K7S5A ver 3? I'm about to upgrade to 1Gb and wanted to know whether it will work? Am I right in thinking that it will only support upto 512Mb sticks and not 1Gb?

I just looked at ECS site and could not see differences between the 5.0 and 8.0 versions except that I think one of the mobos had 3 ram slots and the other only 2. I think it was the 8.0 that only had 2 ram slots. Are there substantial differences? Is either one suitable ...

I just baught a new ECS K7S5A Pro motherboard for my machine. I boot of a adaptec 29160 scsi card. Once the system posts it will hang for exactly 65 seconds before the OS starts. Once the OS starts everything works perfectly.
