When I set the processor to 133 to get the full speed of the 2400, Windows XP loads shows the desktop and then hangs while it is loading god knows what. I did a clean install on a bare drive and still had this problem. At 100 the bios lists the processor as an XP 1800 and XP loads ...

I purchased Fry's special K7VTA3 8.0C and Duron 1.6G. No matter how hard I tried, I could not get this combo to pass Prime95 past 40 to 45 minutes. It would fail with "Hardware Failure" message. I swapped with

Im wanting to upgrade my graphics card. Im looking at a radeon 9800 pro. Ive got a k7s5a mobo. Is there any problems using this type of card with my mobo? My cpu is an atlon xp 2400+ regards

I had a perfectly fine running system with and ECS K7S5A (with 2 sticker on the motherboard), Athlon XP 2000+, 256Mb DDR266 Apacer, 400W PSU, Geforce 4MX 440 AOPEN, HP writer and LG cd-rom. I mostly leave my system on overnight.

I currently use (2) PC2100 256MB sticks on my K7S5A PRO. I was thinking of replacing one stick with a 512MB, giving total memory to 768MB. Does the K7S5A PRO work well with different size memory sticks (DDR slots) ?

I know this is an old MB but I'm trying to put a 120Gig drive on it but it just take it. My bios is 2.2e. The drive was formatted and my win xp home was installed on it at the store but when I brought it home it wont start, it says missing NTLDR.

It powers up, but I get no beep. Then it flashes the HDD, DVD and CD lights alternately. No video. I had set the CPU Speed at the wrong speed in the CPU PnP Setup Page. I must have changed it to a speed that is incompatible with this CPU? Worked ok

Will the 1.6 Duron Applebred run OK on the ECS K7S5A-Pro? Will it run with PC133 SDRAM, or does it NEED DDR? I already have DDR PC 3500 & PC133, both removed in upgrades, but would rather 'use up' the PC133. Thx, sdlomi2 I'd really rather use an XP+ for this build, but ...

i have had one of these boards for about 8 months and not really come accross any problems - until now I recently purchased a Western Digital 80Gb drive with udma 100 and 8Mb cache.
