Occasionally  my CPU is shown as a Duron 1050MHZ on boot up. It is actually
a Athlon 1800+. After resetting the cmos via the jumper and changing the FSB
in the BIOS it shows up correctly. Anyone know why thhis happens? TIA

I have just clean installed XP Home and for the second time the drives
have disappeared under XP. Device Manager shows them with a "!"  and
the message
"Windows successfully loaded the device driver for this hardware but

I just bought these and when it boots up, it only shows an Athlon XP 1900?
Does anyone know why? I checked the BIOS settings and I don't see where I
can change this. They don't have a newer BIOS yet on the

I installed a K7S5A MB with AMD 1600+ CPU and 256Mb PC2100 RAM. This
setup was taken from another computer where it worked.
Now when I start it, it runs for 4 or 5 seconds and then shuts down.
Power supply fan runs and cooler fan runs. Power supply is 250W

I have the following setup on my server, with a peculiar problem:
L7VTA 1.0 (Latest 1.7b BIOS)
2 x 512mb PC2700 memory
AMD 2100+XP

I finally bought the AMD 2200 XP and K75SA version 5.0 from Frys.
I had an old antec 300watt power suppy I bought 2 years ago and a
system with a k6-400 in it.  Kept my finger crossed and stuck the new
combo in the old case after moving over the dimm memory and the stock

I'm in the market for a new ECS board.  I've had a lot of fun with my
K7S5A and was looking at the L7S7A since it seems to support the
Barton.  But the website has me thinking....

Hercules 4500 Kyro2 64 meg card, 1 stick 512 M of Kingston ram, Maxtor 40g

I've got a K7S5A Pro with an XP 2400+ running Win98, and I've got a
sound problem.  The system sounds (like the Windows startup sound) are
just fine but when I play a CD I only get a very faint sound out.
The volume control in Windows is all the way up, nothing muted.

I installed my system with the ide busmaster disabled and with smart
drive disabled.
Should these be enabled?

I've gotten n my Xp-1800 processor to run (and be reported) as an
XP-2600 by using the "wire trick" mod as outlined on www.ocinside.de. I
did have to increase the Vcore to just over 1.8. Also, I'm only running

Trying to upgrade my older K7s5a motherboard from
T-Bird Athlon 1000mz cpu to Athlon 2000+ xp.
No post nothing.Flashed to new Bios.Still same problem.
OS system is Windows 98.

If i plug a USB 2.0 device will it work like a 2.0 or 1.1 on this board?
