P4P800 SE and SATA2 drives28 Feb 2009 03:20 GMT10
I have this board and currently have 2 320GB SATA drives on a RAID 1 array.
I just ordered 2 new 1TB drives that are SATA2 to make a larger array. I did
read that SATA2 is backwards compatible with SATA boards. HAs anyone used
SATA2 drives with the P4P800 SE boards?
BIOS downgrade27 Feb 2009 09:58 GMT2
My Striker Extreme came with 1305.BIN and to try to improve overclocking I
eventually got ASUSupdate to downgrade to 1303.BIN.  Although this allowed
me to overclock better it still didn't allow my GTX280 to work with my board
so I tried upgrading to 1801.BIN.  this also failed ...

Replace CPU in P4C800-E an outline if possible26 Feb 2009 06:52 GMT15
Sorry for the lamer question..  My first attempt at replacing a CPU.
It doesn't really look that complicated on the Asus P4C800 though.
Understand, that is said just from having gotten the old one out with
relative ease once I figured out how the doggone thing was held in.
Does microATX use less power than standard ATX - or what is the most energy-efficient MB?26 Feb 2009 03:53 GMT1
If you compare tecnologies from the same generation but different chipsets -
whar chipset type overall uses less energy (preferably for a Core 2 Duo
processor)

Striker Extreme and OCZ memory20 Feb 2009 11:49 GMT2
I recently replaced my P5N32-SLI with a Striker Extreme. The P5N had failed,
and the SE seemed to be very similar. It all works OK except when the dram
settings are on auto in the bios, where booting Vista gets a stop 9E error.
I set the tcas from auto to 1 and I can now boot ...

Turn power on, hit Power switch.... Nada.
The little green LED on the mobo is glowing but the power
