I have an ASUS PG5GD1-VM mobo.  When I reboot it I get a warning that
the CPU is too hot, press F1 to proceed.  In the BIOS, the temperture
is reported as 123.5 degrees.  I've installed SpeedFan (http://
www.almico.com/speedfan.php), and it also reports the same

A7N8X Deluxe funny behavior30 Jul 2008 19:56 GMT2
When I allow my A7N8X-deluxe computer running XP home SP2, to hibernate
(with no programs running) after whatever time period I have set in the
hibernate settings, I can bring it out of hibernation by just hitting
the 'enter' key (USB keyboard).

I built the PC myself, yet it does not boot.  When I press the Power
On switch, the fans turn on for about a second, then they turn off
automatically.  I checked the standoffs.  I remove the motherboard
from the case.  I disconnected all drives, and the video card.  I
P5E  High Pitch Tone at startup29 Jul 2008 20:22 GMT2
I took apart my computer to try out a new modular power supply.   I
attached all the wires and turned it on and  I now hear a high pitch
constant tone from the internal speaker on the motherboard and the
computer won't boot.  I have put back in the old power supply and I

Any new Asus boards that support ECC?29 Jul 2008 02:16 GMT14
I see the newer models don't support ECC memory. Are there any new Core 2
Asus boards that have ECC?
CPU too hot on boot up27 Jul 2008 15:07 GMT10
I have a quad core (9450) on a P5E3.   PC Probe shows a big spike on
the CPU temp after booting up. It's drops pretty quickly though. Stll
it's booting up around 70 degrees centigrade and then drops down to
about 30 just idling.  Not sure why it runs so hot.

I have an M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard and I think it is time to get a

features of the M2N32-SLI Deluxe motherboard but reallly supports the

How to diagnose a dead PS?25 Jul 2008 17:46 GMT18

of activity anymore.  Normally there is a ASUS P5E MB LED on even when the
PS if off.  No response to the power button at all.  Completely inert.  No
fans, no lights, no nothing.
p4p800 - runs but crashes on install windows from CD?25 Jul 2008 13:48 GMT2
Short version of the story: Doing a major mobo swap so I was trying to

video, standard IDE drives, couple IDE CD ROM's, couple gb memory.
I put the winXP CD in the drive, booted and got the "press any key to
Slightly OT: AGP cards dies... mobo to blame?24 Jul 2008 16:30 GMT3
This is actually a gigabyte mobo, but I think the question is general
enough to get some quality opinions here.
Gigabyte 478 mobo with ATi 1300 AGP 8x. System goes dark a couple
times over a couple days (no video). Reboot... work OK. Then it
Trouble Booting With External USB Drive22 Jul 2008 16:08 GMT1
I picked up a Seagate FreeAgent external hard drive Friday and am having

the computer "hangs".  Most of the time when it gets to the step ...
Qualified Vendor List, memory for M2N-E21 Jul 2008 23:42 GMT1
Where is the QVL on the Asus Web page?
I'm thinking about using Corsair DDR2 TwinX 800, either 4 1GB modules
(e.g., CM2X1024-6400)
or 2 2GB modules of same specs.  Any comments?
