I have 2 AM2 systems. The M2N-E & M2A-VM HDMI.
I guess my first question would be if the current BIOSs (1202 & 1601) will
accomodate this cpu..?
The big question: Is it worth the $260 per machine to upgrade? My reason

I bought a computer at the right price the other day because it would boot
up just to the point where windows was starting to load and then it would
shut down as if you had just switched it off at the wall. Give it 30 seconds
or so and it would do the same thing over and over again ...

I have cool'n'quiet enabled in bios + installed driver + utility + power scheme, and I can see from the utility, that it works like it should, i.e. increases and decreases mhz and voltage dependant on cpu usage.
Well, that is, the cool part works.  As the cpu will absorb less ...

I tried to update the BIOS on an ASUS M2N-E motherboard (from 0802 >
1202). ASUS Update did not show 1202 as an option when trying to
update from the internet. I then downloaded the file and tried to
transfer it to a floppy- got error msg "Cannot read from source file

The 9700 LED seems to be bare copper, blue LED, and 3 pin connector.
The 9700 NT seems to be nickel plated, green LED, and 4 pin connector.
I really don't understand what difference it makes.

Does anyone know if the stock  fan/heatsink has a clear plastic film
covering the thermal compound at the base? If it does, I didn't remove
it prior to installtion on the cpu. If it is there, did I damage the
cpu running it this way? There was no mention of this in the sparse
