Core 2 Duo HDD Wipe Time Increase29 Oct 2007 20:30 GMT1
I've upgraded to a new Intel Core 2 Duo processor from a Pentium 4 and noticed
that my hard disk drive erase time increased dramatically.
My 500Gb drive took approximately 2 hours to erase before the switch, now
it takes 5 hours. This is with a program called Killdisk.
Can someone please recommend a motherboard?28 Oct 2007 19:51 GMT6
I would like a motherboard and the fastest AMD chip that would
work in my full size ATX case and also be able to use the
three sticks of Kingston PC3200 1gb. If the board supports
and AGP videocard that would be great.  Anybody have ideas

I have an A8N-E motherboard with the latest BIOS (1013, IIRC); it claims

SATA drive that also claims to be capable of 3.0GB/sec., but in
WinXP+SP2 Hardware Manager the only available transfer modes are 1.5G

A8N-E How do you get Wake On Lan, to work?25 Oct 2007 22:09 GMT2
I'm going to try it with the wake on PCI enabled,
next; but I would think there has to be an easier
way to get this to function with the on board NIC.
