I have three 500GB SATA II drives, two internal and one in a removable tray (as you may have seen described in another recent post). When the removable drive is mounted it shows as disk 0 in Disk Manager (XP Pro SP2), When it is removed the main boot drive moves into "Disk 0"

As other owners of this board know, there are the four standard SATA connectors, then another one called the SATA_RAID 2 connector, that, according to the manual, you can combine with an external SATA device to configure a RAID 0 or 1 set. Is there any way to use this connector

I bought a new SATA drive (Seagate 300GB) as a scratch disk for some video editing. I mounted the dirve and plugged it into the controller slot labeled "PRI_SATA" in the P4PE manual. I then started having issues gettign the BIOS/OS (Win XP SP2) to see the drive. here is what

I don't understand the relationship between memory speed and CAS rating. For example, which would be faster ddr2/1000 CAS 5 or ddr2/800 CAS 3? Can someone explain this.

Anybody using this Socket AM2 motherboard? Reviews at Newegg seem to indicate it's picky about RAM, so what DDR2 are you using? Any insights, experiences, comments, etc. welcome.

I just tried to install the Promise Fasttrak TX4310 Raid Controller on the A7N8X board with a RAID1 HDD system and run into problems. When I connect the HDDs to the Promise Controller the Bios stopped booting after POST.

Do SATA drives act like SCSI in offloading the work done to access the disk from the CPU to the controller card? How about USB2?
