Dual Core vs Dual CPU30 Jun 2006 13:09 GMT5
I need to build 2 machines.  One will be a web server running Apache,
and the other will be a mail server running Postfix.  I'll be running
Red Hat.
I have a T1, but what I am wondering about is the speed of the machine
Installing non-RAID SATA drive on System running Promise RAID30 Jun 2006 07:08 GMT1
I have an ASUS K8V SE Deluxe mother board on which I am currently
running a RAID pair of SATA drives using the Promise Raid Driver.  I
want to install another SATA drive for B/U and an alternate OS.  There
are two slots for non-Raid SATA drives, but as far as I can tell from

Have recently built a setup using the ASUS P5WD2 Premium and a Pentium D 805

I was wondering if Asus will be releasing a mobo with the 955 or 975
chipsets on a micro-ATX sized board?  Have looked around but cant seem to

A8V Deluxe and Failed Memory Tests28 Jun 2006 19:02 GMT2
I have 4 identical 512mb DIMMS in this board. I frequently suffer from
random crashes (BSOD, random reboots and hanging). I downloaded the MS
memory checker but I can't get it to pass even with (any) one DIMM in the
board (in any slot). I always get errors reported.

Dual Core with NON-DDR2 Ram28 Jun 2006 05:01 GMT13
It seems that the 945 family of intel chipsets is the baseline for the

GIGS of DDR ram available, and at the same time wish to go Dual-Core.
Do I have a way out? Apparently we have the P5VDC-MX, which supports

guess that would require some sort of Dolby Digital real-time encoding.
Is there such a thing or do I have to buy a bunch of mini to rca
