P5GD2: System starts on its own.  30 Nov 2005 03:59 GMT1
P5GD2 Deluxe.  Choose shutdown from XP and it seems to totally shutdown.
Then, 4 sec. later it turns itself back on!  I unplugged the network cable
and problem was solved.  But BIOS item "Power On by PCI device" is DISABLED
(as are the other items in APM Configuration).
Is it ok to install A8N-SLI Premium upside down?30 Nov 2005 02:50 GMT4
Many new cases are reverse ATX and the mainboard gets rotated to where the
CPU is at the bottom of the case. I also know that the heat pipe on the
A8N-SLI will not function optimally in this orientation. However I see this
being a lot, even Maximum PC has a system being auctioned ...

Windows can't see my drives on my P5AD2-E Premium...29 Nov 2005 21:57 GMT1
I previously had a Windows XP installation, with the hack published on
Tom's hardware to make software RAID5 available in XP.
I therefore had 1 SATA drive as the XP drive, and 4 other SATA drives
in RAID5, connected to the Silicon Image controller.

Does A8N-SLI Deluxe have Raid 5 online expansion?29 Nov 2005 20:27 GMT6
I'm considering getting the A8N-SLI Deluxe mobo with a dual core Athlon
64 X2.  I've read some articles which indicate the onboard Raid 5
performance is somewhat lacking, but i'd like to try it out anyways
before investing in a dedicated Raid5 card.

I think I read the specs right, but don't see a driver for the SATA II on

How can I instal the drivers for SATA when there's no a:drive on my
computer. During the WXP instal setup ask for pushing F6 to instal the
non-microsoft (SCSI) drivers for the SATA on the A8N5X. I have to put these
files on an ancient 3,5 inch floppy, they ask!
Herky jerky mouse29 Nov 2005 14:14 GMT2
ASUS P5lD2
The PS2 mouse is not responding very well. Jumps and jerks and you try to
move it around. Have to click 4 or 5 times in order for Windows to 'catch'
the click command.
