When I restore a saved game, or leave a current game and
come back, my framerate is severely degraded, like
33-50%. It stays degraded as long as I'm in the game,
or until I do something that causes renderers to re-initialize,
e.g. changing resolution. This means that everytime I die,
or even just go to 'options' to check my settings,
I must do the following: go to options, change my res to something
other than current (which will always be a res I don't want), get back
into the game, then immediately
go back to options, change res to value I want, then go back into the
game and reload my saved game. Or, whenever I die, I must
get out of the game completely and then relaunch.
I'm using a 1900 xt, 6.5 drivers. If I plug in my
old nvidia 6800 GT, I don't have this problem.
Anyone have/not have this problem?
Is there a simple one step way of re-initializing the
renderers, like a console command?
I don't have this prob on any other game except fear, both the demo
and retail game do this.

Update F.E.A.R. to the latest 1.0.3 if you haven't already. Cat. 6.6 drivers
may also be worth a try.

Tried 6.6, no joy.
Ditto v1.03. Anyone can reproduce this problem, even
if you don't have FEAR. Just D/L the demo and run
FRAPS, the problem happens
everytime.
