Hi

I'm looking for a portable RAID 1 device.

Ideally something that uses 2.5" disks so its small and light.

Thanks for any info.

Hi Guys

Thanks for your suggestions.

All the devices Ive found so far are about the size of a shoebox using 3.5"
discs and weigh approx 10Kg.(22lbs)

So not exactly small or light.

They also cost around £600 (approx $1200) or more which is outside of my
budget.

Still hoping.

Thanks

NetGears's Storage Central device is about £70 (without drives), and
shoebox sized as you say. But there's nothing to stop you putting 2.5"
drives into it to knock the weight down.
The device itself is a piece of sh.t which could be far better
implemented, but the form-factor is do-able.
Packing out an old laptop with a second hard drive in the CD/floppy
bay and a suitably modified *nix operating system is perfectly do-able for
essentially the cost of brain juice plus the drives.
