I have a gateway notebook that crashed a few months ago.  I recovered it, but
it's never been the same.  Again about 3 weeks ago it crashed again.  I found
the manufacter's discs, deleted all files and reinstalled windows XP.  It
says I'm missing a "N" something file, but it's like the C drive isn't beeing
seen or connected.  It boots from the D, no problem.

Please advise.  Thanks

Possibly a failing hard disk?   Determine the manufacturer of the hard disk and
run the mfr's diagnostics, free downloads from each ones web site.   For Toshiba
drives, run Hitachi's Drive Fitness Test.

Next time, post in the gateway newsgroup... Ben Myers
