I just bought an HP C6180 PhotoSmart AIO.
At the end of the one hour installation process, there was a
message that the installation had succeeded.
Then another message that we would now proceed to register the
product. After some time this message came up:
Cannot find
'http://hpdjjs.com/cgi-bin/jumpstation.py?action=cats2@version=70.0.170.0&pl=5M
&lang=en&cc=US&cc_low=us@modellD=Q8181A&PRODUCT_NAME=Photosmart C6100
series&PROD_SERIAL_ID=MY72SJ622G04KR&prodOS=012&client_vp=default&If=blue&ex1=&ex2=&ex3='
Make sure the path or Internet address is correct.
I pressed OK. It whirred away and the same message came up.
And again. Finally, it said that the registration would have to
be done by hand when I had an internet connection. That is not a
problem.
Here is the problem. The machine just hangs on boot up unless
I have the installation CD in the CD drive.
Other symptoms: IE is crashing often recently. Maybe even
before I got the C6180. When I shut down, I often get a message
that one or more of these three execs are not responding.
hpqtra08.exe
hpqimzone.exe
hpqst308.exe
I am running on a Dell Inspiron 8100 under Win XP Pro with
Verizon DSL. I have no reason to believe that that problem
is here.
Any help will be greatly appreciated. TIA.

The HP software for the C6180 and other HP printers is horrible.
Since you just bought it, you should return it for a refund. The
