My friend's cat knocked her new Latitude D520 off a table onto the
floor, and it landed on the AC connector which broke the AC connector
on the inside of the laptop.

This is something that would not be covered under the normal
warranties but because my friend ordered Complete Care though it was
covered.

She sent it in on Thursday morning through DHL, and they just
delivered the fixed computer this afternoon (Monday) at 2pm.

That is a 4 day turnaround, including weekend days.  It's one of the
reasons that I stay with Dell and endure otherwise spotty support.

Yet another reason why furry animals are sworn enemies of computers!  Make sure
your friend keeps the air vents and cooling fans clear of cat hair, yet another
cause for failure of computers.   Not to sound like I'm discriminating against
cats, dog hair is just as bad... Ben Myers

Also, any desktop systems placed on the floor, directly on carpeting are
pretty much asking for significant dust accumulations ultimately.

I actually filter the front of my homebuilt using Swiffer-type cloths to
attract and retain dust. They work very well w/o creating drag/strain for
the fans directly behind the filter, and seem to be a real help in avoiding
dust accumulation inside the box.

I cannot recommend dryer sheets, however. heh. That was another experiment
gone wrong several years ago. I was overcome with "April Freshness" in about
10 minutes.....

You should have used the dryer sheets with "Dank December" scent!

One of the dumbest and funniest things I've ever done. Turned a 15 x 15 room
into a clothes dryer at an amazingly fast rate.

Had to open doors and windows. The whole enchilada.  g
