Opened up the 9200 the other day to see if I can fit another SATA drive
in it, but couldn't see any spare connections on the MB.

Is that the case or am I looking in the wrong place?  I currently have 2
160mb SATA drives and one 500mb USB2 drive connected.

You're missing them.  They're below the power supply.  There are SIX
Sata connectors.  I have 5 hard drives in one of mine.
