Is there any hints of a company coming out with a soundcard
that uses one of the pci-e slots?  The new MBs seem to have
more pci-e type slots than the old "legacy" pci slots.

Asus Xonar and Creative are possibilities:

I expect drivers, and drivers for enough OSes, will
be the issue initially. So I wouldn't get too excited
until the first reviews are out.

Asus doesn't normally write a lot of software, so
it'll be interesting to find out who did the
actual development for them.
