I have an AMD 2500 cpu, 256 2700 ddr, geforce 4200 128 ddr, and win xp
on my system. I also have a problem with my computer locking up when I
try to play a game like mohaa or any good video game. Contacted
Biostar and got the latest and greatest bios update which was no help.
Any body have any idea what I have wrong or any help. Thanks

If you are running a sound card, be sure the onboard sound is turned off in
the bios.

I have almost the same setup, and Trainz crashed alot until I did that
(soundblaster card). Now it rarely does.

Also, is this an XP install brought over from an older motherboard?

Nope no soundcard but I'll put my santa cruz in and turn off the
onboard and see what happens. It was a clean install on XP.

For me, I assumed that it was a conflict between the onboard sound and the
sound card. But, maybe the onboard sound itself is the culprit.
